WHAT IS TCP? 
TCP means "Transportation Charter Party Carrier of Passengers". WHY TCP? As you may already know, TCP is the

          TCP LETTER DESIGNATIONS. Remember, in California (the global leader in limousine and other transportation service
standards),  the "letter" at the end of the TCP number signifies the scope of service you are authorized to provide. For instance
TCP-##-A or TCP-##-B or TCP-##-P are "common carrier" licenses authorized to serve the general public on a pre-arranged,
single-load, basis! You may apply as an individual (owner-operator), a limited liability company (LLC), a C-corporation, a partnership
or other legal entity.

TIC is a transportation industry consultant (not a governmental agency) helping people like you setup (prepare and file for the proper
license, and assist you in answering difficult regulatory questions after you obtain your license) and or assist you in operating your
own ground transportation business.
          Matter of fact, we set up this company with the primary purpose to market and sell our clients' transportation-for-hire services
in the regulated market environment, in our own special way: airports, seaports, train stations, events, sports & entertainment,
conventions, city-to-city, beaches, tours, party-on-wheels, conferences-on-wheels, about-town, schools, farms, etc. What is your
target market and how do you plan to out maneuver the competition without TIC? As you can see, we are not quite there yet.

WHAT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO WITH YOUR TCP LICENSE:
TCP-License allows you to operate Limousine, Livery, Tour-Bus (TCP: A or B or P), Specialized Charter (TCP: Z = Contract or
Incidental Service; or TCP: S = Roundtrip Sightseeing Tour Service) or General Charter Services. You are prohibited from fixed/flat
point-to-point fares under any TCP License. Under TCP (A, B, P or Z) you must always base your charges on Time (per hour, per
day ...) or Mileage ($$ per mile....) or a a combination of Time and Mileage: we will give you a good example of how to charge your
customer as we prepare your application for filing. Further, only one party (a group or an individual, etc) may pre-arrange and charter
any given vehicle for the duration of the charter: charter means exclusive service to one party, thus no "shared charter" in the same
vehicle.
          However, under TCP-##-S for round-trip sightseeing service, you charge per-person-per-roundtrip: a roundtrip means pick
them up from their respective points or a general designated start-point, then take them through what you promised to show them
for that roundtrip, and then bring them back to where they started: TCP-S is not a pickup and drop-off service.         

ABOUT YOUR EQUIPMENT (VEHICLE):
Now, the specific type of equipment (vehicle) you use for your pre-arranged passenger charter transportation
business depends, for the most part, on the customers you wish to serve: seriously considering public safety
and quality of service for all, you may elect to use Bus, Motor-coach, Sedan, SUV, Van, Station-wagon,
Rickshaw,  Motorbike, or other motorized equipment authorized by the state you wish to operate in (soon
you will find Vehicles on the left side of this page).
